Fun with Google Maps

My sister sent me this email today. It is definitely worth passing along:

"Take 60 seconds to do this, I guarantee you will show someone else, it's too funny not to.

1. go to www.google.com
2. click on "maps"
3. click on "get directions"
4. type "New York" in the first box (the "from" box)
5. type "London" in the second box (the "to" box)
6. click on "get directions"
7. scroll down to step #23"

Mimes for Jesus?

Today, over at the Daily Grudgematch, there was a post with a link to Gospel Mimes. You gotta check it out.

In their words, "gospel mime is breaking the gospel industry wide open." And, they've guest-performed with MC Hammer. Oh well, at least it doesn't have anything to do with "bong hits."

Today's 80s flashback

Yes, it's the "Misfits of Science." Anyone remember this show? Note the presence of Courtney Cox, Dean Martin's son (before his untimely death in 1987), and the prevalence of three-name credits.

Mitt on Life Issues

Two takes on Mitt's move to the right on abortion:

1) James Bopp: Romney is the Best Choice
2) LA Times: Romney not the first to flip

Remember these days?

Cutting edge technology at the time...

The Earth was warming before global warming was cool

In light of the Oscar love-fest for Al Gore, I thought I'd post this alternative viewpoint article:

"When Eric the Red led the Norwegian Vikings to Greenland in the late 900s, it was an ice-free farm country--grass for sheep and cattle, open water for fishing, a livable climate--so good a colony that by 1100 there were 3,000 people living there. Then came the Ice Age. By 1400, average temperatures had declined by 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit, the glaciers had crushed southward across the farmlands and harbors, and the Vikings did not survive....."
