It's too bad that we as Americans only demonstrate our nationalism when there is something to hate. That combined with our inability to accept inferiority in anything probably doesn't help. I don't think that the disinterest in the Olympics is because of boring sports, I think it's because we can't stand watching ourselves suck at sports the Europeans regularly trounce us at. It's like when the Europeans watch Lance Armstrong win the Tour as many years in a row as he did.
No, I'm pretty sure it's because the sports are boring.
